Pop down to your local People Planet Pint meetup to find more about what’s going on locally with sustainability and how you can get involved.

No pitches, powerpoints or panels. Just People, Planet, Pint/s.

Your local meetup is a great place to start your journey or continue learning, and meet diverse people to chat about life and how we can sustain it. Every job is a climate job, so come along and learn about how you can take action, as well as what is going on locally.

We welcome everyone, regardless of their experience or background. People Planet Pint is a space where everyone can feel comfortable learning about sustainability and sharing their ideas.

Afterall, creating a sustainable future requires connected communities. And what better way to bring everyone together than over a drink?

Prefer a Pastry to a Pint? Head along to ‘People Planet Pastry’! Equally relaxed and welcoming, they run during the day and offer an informal way to learn about what is going on locally in sustainability.

Your Volunteer Host

Harriet Baggley is the founder of an independent, zero waste refill shop called Blue Marble Refill and a voluntary director for ‘Carmarthen Together CIC’ which is an inclusive social organisation that is concerned with climate and community resilience.

There are several sustainable projects taking place within Carmarthen (a monthly repair cafe, a pay-what-you-can community kitchen that utilises surplus food, a Library of Things to name a few) and this is a space that brings them together.

Deri Reed, recently named the BBC Morning Live Community Food Champion 2024 at the prestigious BBC Food & Farming Awards, is a leading voice in the movement for ethical and sustainable food. This national recognition celebrates his tireless efforts to transform food systems and foster community resilience through innovative projects like Cegin Hedyn.

As the founder of The Warren in Carmarthen, Deri has created a restaurant celebrated for its dedication to local and organic ingredients, exceptional quality, and sustainability. Operating entirely on renewable energy, The Warren reflects his ethos of leaving both the planet and his customers better off.Deri’s passion for food extends far beyond the kitchen. His community-driven project, Cegin Hedyn, is a community kitchen, canteen, and allotment space where food is served on a “pay what you can” basis. This initiative ensures everyone, regardless of financial circumstances, can enjoy high-quality, seasonal, and organic meals while supporting local growers and fostering inclusivity.
