Brisbane, Australia – People, Planet, Pastry

April 30 @ 7:00 am - 9:00 am

Meet others interested in sustainability in your community, share local stories and ideas, and accelerate local climate action.

People, Planet, Pastry

Do you work in or are you involved in sustainability? Or are you simply interested in or curious about the subject? If so, come along to this People, Planet, Pastry event to meet like-minded professionals, executives, business owners and individuals who are taking action on sustainability. Learn about what is going on locally, share insights on how to overcome barriers and make new friends!

This relaxed and informal event brings people together to learn more about sustainability and take action.

The sister event, People, Planet, Pint, brings people together to learn more and chat about climate, while our “Pastry” series has a similar focus, but in a breakfast setting over coffee!

This is an open event where anyone is welcome, so if you’re curious about what’s going on, come on down!

Alex has spent the majority of his career in London where he previously worked in waste prevention for the second largest waste authority in the UK. Most recently, he was running a company called Zero Waste Mindset, delivering zero waste corporate training and events for the employees of corporate clients. Alex also ran a community called Zero Waste London, which was the largest zero waste community in the UK.

For over two decades, Sarah Woolmington, an engagement specialist, has collaborated with corporations to enhance their stakeholder engagement strategies. In 2021, she recognised the pivotal role of engaging teams in sustainability discussions for organisations to advance their sustainability objectives. Consequently, she expanded her consulting services to incorporate this aspect. In 2023, she established Impact Dragonfly, a sustainability engagement organisation dedicated to empowering teams and stakeholders to contribute to sustainability solutions.

Nicola Gibbs is passionate about the power of purpose-driven leadership in achieving sustainable outcomes. With a background in strategy development and governance across education, health, and international engagement, Nicola now runs a social impact consultancy called Pluri that supports boards and executives in having a greater—and measurable—impact.

About Us

Small99 is a platform that guides small business owners to Net Zero and avoids the overwhelm. Small99 organises the PPP events, with the belief that bringing people together will spark unexpected solutions to collaboration in tackling climate change.

Our Sponsor

Small99 is delighted to partner with Sage who will become our key People Planet Pastry sponsor.

The support of Sage will allow us to cover our event cost (including pastries), but also to expand to more cities and keep the conversations and decarbonisation actions growing.

Sage is helping SMBs decarbonise through tech solutions and education.

Conrad Langridge, Sage Earth:

“We have seen the success of the People Planet Pint series run by Adam and the team, and having attended a number of sessions we know the value this is bringing the small business community, we wanted to support People Planet Pastry series to build on that success but in a way that focuses on SMB decarbonisation as a direct action.”
