About this event

This Friday morning walk is your chance to take a break from the day-to-day routine, get some fresh air, and exercise whilst meeting with like-minded people. The planned route is a classic walk, starting from the historic village of Wye and following paths through fields, woods, and along the top of the Downs. It's within the North Downs Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, with far-reaching views from Wye Crown and The Devil's Kneading Trough, The walk is around 5 miles, covers some steep, muddy, and uneven terrain, and is suitable for anyone with a reasonable fitness level in about 2.5 to 3 hours. We'll be walking at a comfortable pace for the group - we won't leave anyone behind. Itinerary: 8.02 am Meet at Wye Train Station. This time is great for trains arriving from London, Ashford, Canterbury, Ramsgate, etc. 11 am Return to Wye for drinks and cakes at Wye Coffee and Kitchen. You are welcome to join us for coffee if you can't make the walk. Please call or text us on 07813 985780 to let us know you are coming. What you will need: - Clothing - Warm clothes, walking boots, and waterproofs are recommended. (Check the weather forecast!) - Please bring a drink and a snack for this walk. What to expect: This is a relaxed, friendly, and informal networking event. You'll have a chance to introduce yourself and your work/business when we meet, and you'll be encouraged to get to know everyone. There is no pitching or referrals. Collaboration, support, and information sharing are encouraged. You are welcome to bring your business or sustainability questions, challenges, opportunities, or topics you would like to discuss. Travel: Please travel to the event as sustainability as you can. There are regular trains and buses from Ashford/Canterbury. However, we do understand that using public transport is not always possible. If you need to park – free parking is available nearby in the public car park, village hall, or on-road throughout the village.
