Peterborough – People, Planet, Pastry
January 26 @ 9:00 am - 11:00 am
People, Planet, Pastry
If you’re interested or curious about sustainability, come along to the People, Planet, Pastry event to meet like-minded business owners who are taking action on sustainability. Learn about what is going on locally, share insights on how to overcome barriers and make new friends!
This relaxed and informal event brings people together to learn more about sustainability and take action.
The sister event, People, Planet, Pint, brings people together to learn more and chat about climate, while our “Pastry” series is focused on empowering small businesses with the action they can take and where to start with sustainability.
While we will mostly be discussing businesses, this is an open event where anyone is welcome, so if you’re curious about what’s going on, come on down!
Your Volunteer Hosts
Over 27 years I have worked with a range of SMEs in different sectors and I am qualified with a Masters in Design, Strategy and Innovation Management and a qualified in Mentoring and Coaching from the ILM. I thrive on supporting others to achieve their best and enjoy my time mentoring at York St John University helping MBA students develop their skills in entrepreneurship and advising them on sustainable business models, am a coach and mentor at Allia Future Business Centre Cambridgeshire and freelance coach for the social enterprise Visionnaires. I also volunteer for the Business and Intellectual Property Center, Government Help To Grow programme and with the Peterborough Community Champions Alliance.
Outside this time I coach and train entrepreneurs 1:1 and in groups, am a facilitator with Small99 to help SMEs better understand the benefits of Carbon Reduction plans and I train SMEs in sustainable business practices, helping them to demystify Net 0, measure their impact and support a shift in mindset towards regenerative business practices. Much of the coaching and training work I do involves connecting people with sustainability solutions via my network, strategic planning, product and service development, and organisational design. The focus is on creating efficiencies, building reputation and adding value to the business to enhance access to funding and bids, attract customers, secure market share and build resilience.
Kayleigh Nicolaou is the co-founder of Kakadu Creative, a full-service, purpose-led branding and design agency that’s making a positive impact through creating good work for good people, because, as they say, “business as usual just isn’t good enough anymore.’
Small99 is a platform that guides small business owners to Net Zero and avoids the overwhelm. Small99 organises the PPP events, with the belief that bringing people together will spark unexpected solutions to collaboration in tackling climate change.
Small99 is delighted to partner with Sage who will become our key People Planet Pastry sponsor.
The support of Sage will allow us to cover our event cost (including pastries), but also to expand to more cities and keep the conversations and decarbonisation actions growing.
Sage is helping SMBs decarbonise through tech solutions and education.
Conrad Langridge, Sage Earth:
“We have seen the success of the People Planet Pint series run by Adam and the team, and having attended a number of sessions we know the value this is bringing the small business community, we wanted to support People Planet Pastry series to build on that success but in a way that focuses on SMB decarbonisation as a direct action.”
