Join our People Planet Pint (COPPP) on 7th December to find hope, learn what’s going on in your local community, get involved & take action!

COPPP28

People, Planet, Pint has always been about bringing people together to share what is going on in the local community, and ultimately, give hope that things are indeed happening.

On the 7th of December this year, we are planning a unified alternative COP28 event, with PPP’s all over the country at the same time, to give those who may be tired of the relentless news cycle somewhere to come and feel heard, and learn about local action they can get involved with.

You’re invited to join us at the “Congress of the People Planet Pints”, or “COPPP28”.

If you’re curious about climate and want to learn more about what you can do individually or through your work, join others at COPPP28 to find out more about what’s happening in your area and how you can get involved.

No agenda, workshops or webinars. Just chat over some drinks.

Started in Glasgow during COP26, this relaxed event brings together those with a shared passion for sustainability in all its forms.

Let’s see where the conversation, and night, takes us!

Find others who can collaborate and help you on your journey and have fun doing so!

Your Hosts

Elizabeth Corse is a local resident and working mum who runs a training company to help more people understand and feel confident when Climate Change comes up. As a climate communicator, she helps kickstarts climate conversations in workplaces without the need for a sustainability expert.

With a background in tech and sustainability, Elizabeth has spent almost a decade working with businesses who are either developing tech and nature-based solutions or those businesses looking to use technology to help them reduce their impacts on people and planet.

When she isn’t rushing around looking after her 2 football-loving young boys, she volunteers as an Enterprise Advisor for the Holt School.

Anna Watson is a Wokingham mum who actively contributes to environmental initiatives. She is a member of the environment team at her workplace (a financial training provider) where she aims to measure the business’ full carbon footprint, set carbon reduction targets and increase the focus on sustainability. Anna’s passion for the environment extends beyond her workplace, and she is currently helping to plan the Wokingham 2030 Festival, a community event where local people are invited to consider what kind of future we want for our area.

Venue – The Rose Inn

We’ll be in the Parlour which is tucked on the right hand side of the pub.

Wokingham Borough Council – Climate Emergency Talk

Thursday 7th December, 17.30 to 18.30 at Wokingham Library

Presented by Cllr Sarah Kerr, Executive Member for Climate Emergency & Resident Services & Resh Thorpe WBC Climate Emergency Engagement Officer. You can find more information here.

In July 2019, Wokingham Borough Council members unanimously declared a climate emergency. This declaration commits the council to do as much as possible to achieve carbon neutrality by 2030. Subsequently, the council published its first Climate Emergency Action Plan establishing over 100 actions to minimise carbon emissions. As part of COP28 week, they are running two events at Carnival Library, Wokingham which will focus on our ambitious Climate Emergency Action Plan, the work that we are doing to tackle the climate emergency locally and how you can help to play your part.
