Brisbane - People Planet Pint™: Sustainability Meetup
, – (GMT+10)
About this event
Do you wish trains were cheaper, there were more trees on your street, and more solar panels over local car parks?
Are you frustrated that with increasingly wild weather people are still paving over nature, and you’re left feeling like the only one who cares in your friends WhatsApp group?
You're not alone! You've just been in the wrong room.
People Planet Pint is your local sustainability meetup - no pitches, no presentations, no panels.
Just like-minded people talking about the planet over a pint (or two).
You don't need to be a sustainability professional. You don't need to know what "Scope 3" means (most people don't!).
If you’re curious about what’s going on locally and feel that a better future is possible - come along to meet others like you and chat about what’s going on locally, how to get involved and what solutions are out there.
Come for conversations with real people - it’s a space to swap ideas, find opportunities, get things off your chest or just sit back and listen. You'll leave with practical ways to get involved and leave a lot more optimistic about the future!
Get a taste for what it feels like with our video here.
Every job is a climate job, so come along to ask the questions you've been too afraid to ask, and finally meet people who actually get it.
Everyone is welcome, whatever your experience or background.
A better future is possible now. And it starts at your local pub, with a pint in hand.
So, got a free evening? Come find your people.

Alex Furey has spent the majority of his career in London where he previously worked in waste prevention for the second largest waste authority in the UK. Most recently, he was running a company called Zero Waste Mindset, delivering zero waste corporate training and events for the employees of corporate clients. Alex also ran a community called Zero Waste London, which was the largest zero waste community in the UK.
For over two decades, Sarah Woolmington, an engagement specialist, has collaborated with corporations to enhance their stakeholder engagement strategies. In 2021, she recognised the pivotal role of engaging teams in sustainability discussions for organisations to advance their sustainability objectives. Consequently, she expanded her consulting services to incorporate this aspect. In 2023, she established Impact Dragonfly, a sustainability engagement organisation dedicated to empowering teams and stakeholders to contribute to sustainability solutions.
Please note: We will be gathering outside on the rooftop terrace but there will be outside heaters available. However please bring a coat or appropriately warm clothing to ensure that you will be comfortable.
You'll see the People Planet Pint signs on the table to indentify us and please ask for Sarah or Alex who will be delighted to welcome you!
